Honestly that ease of access is one of the things I love about the UK arrangement

Alternatively, getting home from work after a long day and throwing something in the oven and then doing a load of laundry while dinner cooks is fully within reason. Timed right it means I can stick stuff on the airer to dry overnight...

after all, the repairs from The Incident 2 months ago haven't been completed. i would like to put my furniture back where it was and stop having to think about my flat so much

update on my tragic and cursèd flat: it's probably not the wiring, and instead might just be the washer itself i did manage to get the thing open (tripping the breaker again) and extracted my soaked clothes. thankfully (?) it hadn't filled the drum yet, so not everything was sodden and soapy

sigh, thank you. North America would put the washer in the basement (if available, either of a house or an apartment building), or a closet similar to a boiler cupboard (or even with the boiler), or if you're really fancy in a whole other laundry/utility room

it took some getting used to, but i don't mind it! when it's not causing a fault, that is

what i DO know is that my clothes are currently locked in an appliance i can't open, which is low-key upsetting

is the fact my washing machine now trips the kitchen breaker (lol, UK) related to the ceiling leaks? or is it a wild new thing? who can say, who can say.
