#ChatChemistry Second question- this used to be the structure in my O and ALevel and again at university. Great for students, but I imagine a nightmare for marking? They do have this structure in humanities. What do we think?

AQA have optional topics for A Level Physics, though for teachers to choose from rather than for students to learn all then choose from in the exam. I recall research suggesting students are often bad judges of which question they’ll do better on in subjects with optionality… #ChatChemistry

#ChatChemistry- might work with say a synoptic section in each paper? May be a better discriminator for A/A* than current model?

I think it would be great for students to really show their ability in a specific part so yes definitely! #chatchemistry
