Since this one is 'M' we should call it Hurricane Mobil instead of Milton. #HurricaneMobil let's get the hashtag going!

Would even left ponders know some of those terms? Oi, NYT, if you're going to rip off the connecting wall off Only Connect* you could at least make it universal! *Did they rip it from elsewhere?

It would be very strange if the changes were linear! In a complex system with energy storage it's never effectively linear unless the energy store components are very small compared the the overall energy in the system. There would also be no lag.

Heh, reminds me of a British Labour politician called Dennis Skinner during Prime Minister's Questions in Parliament. Skinner: "Half the Tories opposite are crooks!" Speaker: "Please retract!" Skinner: "OK, half the Tories opposite aren't crooks!"

I see the gradient is increasing in all of them, so it's still getting worse. Not sure we'll see the gradient levelling off any time soon.....Get a wriggle on and stop pissing about thems what run things!

It wasn't quite record levels about 20-30cm below I think, but still 4.2 meters above low level. The duration of the floods was as big a problem. I would think it can and will get worse yes, we'll see 5+ meters above soon. It's flooded every year the last 3-4 years.
