I love being able to quickly skim recent commits and see exactly which files and lines of code have changed at a glance. I’m a very visual person though, so I know what works for me isn’t for everyone!

For those command liners who are looking for a GUI that is transparent about the used git cli commands and that's pretty awesome: "Sublime Merge" is really worth a try. As a plus: this way it's also a really great way to learn some new git commands.

Also Team GUI on using GitHub. Clicking around to get info about the state of things is just faster for me than typing into the command line. I'm currently using Sourcetree. I have a lot of love for the official Git GUI client, but I need more than it provides.

yeah that makes sense, I definitely wouldn't skim commits in that way with the command line
