Curiosity runs on nuke battery. Doesn't have solar panels. Dunno what this is, but I'm doubtful it's that. Duststorms are a problem. The experiments Curiosity was going to run required more power than solar would have provided. Source: Brother worked on multiple Mars missions for NASA.

I think the sunrise/sunset on Mars are blue as well. I don’t think it’s a Mars photo but I asked Katie Mack in the comments and maybe she’ll actually know for sure.
