I figure even if you just look at the number of people who work in one artistic discipline and are fine who AI elbowing out people who practice another (ie; writers who generate cover art), it’s not surprising that an athlete would undervalue artists

Honestly I think part of the issue here is exactly that, if you are a person who worked very hard to perform at a high level in your given field, it’s very difficult to start a new discipline at square 1. When you’re used to being Very Good and In Control in your field, the disparity feels larger-
