I'm as exasperated with it as you are, but these are the very same young people's votes you're relying on. It's not as simple as a vote flipped from a repub is a +2 for dems. You might lose those two and then some. And lemme tell you, the political strategy of voters 25-30 ain't that far off either.
I wish I shared your optimism but I work directly with newly-voting-age young adults every single day and a whole lot of em absolutely think withholding their vote is a sound voting tactic if a candidate supports policy they don't like. Including the queer and trans folks. This. Will. Cost. Votes.
