Just so everyone is perfectly clear: the GOP VP candidate is telling victims of domestic violence to stay in relationships with their abusers and wants government policy to encourage them to do so. Fucking evil regressive misogyny.

A friend w/ 3 kids left her partner and got a restraining order. He ended up committing suicide. But if she’d stayed with him and hadn’t been in a safe space, that suicide might have been murderous. Vance thinks she should have stayed with him/risked her own life and that of her kids. Appalling.

Endorsing wife-beating for the sake of the kids is a real 1950s id take. Saying science proves it makes it a 2020s Silicon Valley super-duper-ego take.

Yes, Vance, because nothing is better for the emotional health of children than watching their parents tear each other apart, day after day.

Is he the child of a nasty divorce, or something else in his childhood flipped the sociopath switch?

Maybe worse than that: the tacit approval of men beating their wives. The family can't stay together if Dad's in jail for beating Mom.

Sounds like he’s suffering frm some childhood trauma, did his parents separated?

Further, the notion that kids benefit by remaining in a violent home with an abuser is monstrous and contrary to every bit of research on the topic. Vance should take this early 20th Centry sexism and shove it up his ass. He wants to take us back to an era when home violence was ignored or approved.
