As someone with a math major and a physical chemistry grad degree, lmao. Bodies are the version of physics that are not solvable. The fact that you can’t do the math is the thing that makes them hard. Some doctors result to platitudes, and they suck. That’s why the platitude machine is useless.
my eyebrows flew off my head reading these tweets. i no longer have eyebrows.
*stares in dead pancreas*
As a biologist, I love seeing how my field breaks physicists and engineers when they have to seriously grapple with it.
Also, gotta say, this just shows the ingrained hubris of computer "scientists." So I know a doc, love them. They're considered the best in their (sub) speciality, on national boards, sought out for consults internationally, know their shit forward, backwards, and from all the angles. And I would not
I have been giving hollow laughs to such claims for decades. Why yes I did a biology degree, how did you guess?
The hard part of surgery and anesthesia is knowing what to do when things go wrong and reacting instinctively in the moment in the correct way. That comes with education and years of experience
Doesn't even need a college degree, really. Just go to a trade school.
I'm sure there's a three body problem joke in there somewhere...
The most dangerous platitude of all is "How hard can it be?"
TBF it's not as if LLMs are that good at solvable math, like counting letters in common words, either.
