Telling children that they, and they alone, are the authority on certain decisions about themselves and their body is, in fact, protecting children.

I’m queer and disabled and in my late thirties. It took me so long to come out, even to myself, because alienating my parents would have jeopardized my access to healthcare. That’s exactly the control mechanism the GOP wants back, and they’re using parents to do it.
