Half the time streaming services cancel shows before I've even had time to start watching them - I wonder how often a show might have had a delayed audience and then spread by word of mouth if it hadn't already been cancelled? Especially as so many great shows took a season or so to get going...
I just talked about this in a literature class today. How Netflix is a content machine governed by the model of capturing new viewers, and even when a show breaks out + performs very well--as Kaos did--they'll still cancel it in spite of good ratings because it didn't *immediately* make a huge $$.
I was on episode 6 when the news broke, and just finished it last night. What is the point of Netflix anymore?

Netflix, in God's name, just make miniseries because that's what you're pretty much doing anyway!!
