We seem to have a leaky roof and some water ingress. Checked insurance policy: doesn't cover leaks in normal weather as that indicates lack of repair (seriously?). Put in claim. Will take them up to 7 days to send out a surveyor to decide whether I'm covered. Do I wait? Or just pay for a roofer?

Countdown: the Employment Rights Bill is probably being published in 18 days' time. (100 days from Labour coming into power is Sat 12 October. Bills aren't published on a Saturday, and Friday is reserved for private members' bills, so it will probably be laid on Thurs 10 October.)
