It’s the 6th anniversary of the #9ReplyGuys@shrewshrew.bsky.social & me, categorizing misogynistic replies to reports of sexual harassment in STEM🧪. These guys are still around, and these creepy rhetorical tactics are used for lots of things, so we recreated the thread over here.

At this point, dunking on Google's AI for bad/wrong/hilarious summaries is almost too easy, but I came across this one last night, and I love it 1/4

A screenshot of a google search for "parachute effectiveness". The AI Overview includes a section where it says that a "2018 randomized controlled trail found that parachutes did not reduce the risk of death of major injury when jumping from an airplane."

If I could make a plea for BlueSky, it’s this: Please make a point of sharing links to articles, essays and more that you LOVE, that you enjoyed, that expanded you in some way. I’m always surprised by the dominance of hate-shares, complaint shares on here. And I think it has a riptide effect.

nobody will remember: - your salary - how “busy you were” - how many hours you worked people will remember: - how many squid facts you knew - if you offered others squid facts - how you made people feel when you told them a squid fact
