The denial of medical treatment for trans individuals will be looked on with the same disgust as we now do with barbaric homophobic policies of the past which saw the likes of Alan Turing destroyed. That doesn't help the people being harmed by it now. www.theguardian.com/society/arti...
With puberty blockers now banned in much of the UK, those hoping for gender treatment say they have been forced into difficult decisions
sickening. just sickening
I once met a 16-y/o on a pride in 🇩🇪. She took a pill from a plastic bag. I asked her what it was and she said estrogen from the black market. I remarked it may be dangerous and she answered she'd rather be dead than male. Bans and gatekeeping will never stop transitions. Only safe transitions.
The Guardian at the end of this article, begging for money because of "Bad actors spreading disinformation online to fuel intolerance" -- as though they hadn't been instrumental in whipping up the moral panic that caused the travesty they're now reporting on.
Fucking ironic that The Guardian is running this story, given their history of scare mongering about trans people?
The personal testimony in this story is completely devastating. Those young people and their parents have been let down so badly by a system and a society that should be there to help them live their lives happy and healthy.
The majority of trans women are their own doctor. They have to be to survive.
