Given the popular support for a Fortress Europe program of drowning non-voting migrants and a monetary union insulated from popular input, which starved southern Europe for a decade, I have no patience for European liberals logging on to say that people drowning in Asheville (!) should've voted blue
The more I listen to accounts of violent pushbacks at Europe's borders the more it seems to me the EU is incubating the kind of paramilitary activity that may segue all too easily to actual fascism if and when the circumstances arise
