Maybe just scale damage properly and have consistent monster tuning rules so you can actually run a game where you don't have either extreme of letting the powergamer steamroll the game and hog the spotlight, or make any semblance of instrumental play performative to protect the players who aren't.
The unmanageability of burst power limited resource swings is why GMing for 5e is obnoxious as shit and why you get the most low-tier takes of 'don't track HP, just let the players deal big damage and end the fight when it feels right to.'
If every option is doing nuke level burst damage then not only do you essentially have multiple flavours of the same thing that may at best inflict different status effects or deal different damage, but it ignores the key issue of how unmanageable that damage scale is.
I cannot say this enough, 'if everything is OP nothing is OP' is such a horrible reductive statement that caters to the most entitled, myopic, and 'I am very smart' of gamers who don't realise exponential power creep is how evergreen games become complete messes to tune and play.
I agree, and this is the other underlying point I'm making: A lot of it is bad faith and done to whittle down the people they disagree with. If relentless negativity and criticism is an indulgence, you will naturally endure longer than people who find it exhausting.
