What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders? In games, conversational lines between characters are 99% recorded separately then stitched together.

A reminder if you use libraries (bc sometimes ppl are apologetic to authors about it) - don't be! We get paid! I get almost as much per borrow as I do per sale! And I LOVE libraries, they were a lifeline when the kids were little in particular.

People keep asking me if I'm afraid AI will replace writers. No. I'm afraid idiot CEOs will replace writers. But our craft? No. AI cannot innovate. It can only regurgitate. Plus, the amount of data it's fed, from people who think they're good writers (and are not) mean it's regurgitating shit.
