The Venn diagram of the people this is intended to placate and the people that constantly scream about their tax dollars being wasted is a circle.
I didn't know the definition of Brandolini's Law before I read the attachments, but I was easily able to derive what it was :(
Even if everyone in this scenario were acting in good faith (and we know election challengers generally aren’t) this would effort be doomed because you generally can’t “prove” your innocence, and especially when the accusers are not limited by having to offer evidence for their own claims
And it still will not be enough. "The GPS data was hacked!" "The surveillance camera footage is deepfaked!" Because if they lose, someone must have cheated, therefore nothing can be trusted. If they win, of course, "Behold the integrity and transparency of our voting system!"
That trembling in the earth? It's the goalposts moving.
Surely THIS will be the thing that convinces Republicans that elections are actually valid. Spoiler: the problem is that they refuse to accept losing in relatively democratic elections, not that they doubt the process. The latter is just their excuse, which too many people accept as sincere.
