I have contacts for days when I want to wear costume glasses or fancy sunglasses or do some really elaborate eye makeup, but I prefer my glasses. I’m clumsy enough that having protective shields in front of my eyes at all times is a very good idea.

Take heart! My mom is having her annual pi-rate party this weekend (six months after pi day, because you need multiple pie potlucks in a year) where costumes and in-character dialog are encouraged. And I just got to tell another department to “belay that order” in an email. A faithful few remain.
