I think you’re right. And because of that, it’s surprising how easily research published in both low and high impact journals could be of poor quality, or at least founded on poor quality research. How do we even know what we know lol 🫠
Interesting point. Despite good intent, poor quality research can have big downstream effects If highly read research is later found to have problematic stats/conclusion/replication, suddenly branching research is questioned, media can push eroded trust narrative, & resetting takes time & effort
