the rarity of good prose is so depressing, and i think a lot of the time, the reason people are bad at writing prose clearly is because they're bad at thinking at clearly
This is it. The thing is (and it goes beyond writing) how do you teach people to think? For some reason I'm thinking of the bit in "Blackadder II" where he's trying to explain to Baldrick about counting beans.
