I suspect that it’s also hard to separate out the benefits unfortunately. I would love to see if the benefits could be reproduced with semaglutide (the other major GLP-1 inhib on the market being used as obesity drug). If both have same end point, then likely weight reduction is cause.
Also, if you look at endpoints (primary and secondary) BMI reduction is listed, but it’s not included in the conclusion. TBH, I’m a little annoyed at that. But as this is a pharma publication, my feeling is that this is more focused on getting tirzepatide out to more indications not just obesity.
I mean, at least with a pile of gold you can move bits until it fits your body and it’ll probably stay there but probably gonna end up with bruises on bruises once you start…eh…moving, and coins in places that are not pockets! ❤️
No posted results on the BMI change or weight loss effect unfortunately and unless they publish the actual data, we might never know. :(
With chronic conditions often the patient is better informed than the doctors because it becomes their special interest category and now, you have to advocate for yourself and potential treatment plans!
