Random Debian Astro package of the week is libpluto-jpl-eph-dev. Header files and a static library that are the basis of tools in the pluto-jpl-eph package. The package is a build requirement of the pluto-lunar tools.
Code to read, use, and manipulate JPL DE ephemeris data. - Bill-Gray/jpl_eph
- Arbitrary matrix data (homogeneously typed or heterogeneous) with row and column labels - Any other form of observational / statistical data sets. The data actually need not be labeled at all to be placed into a pandas data structure This package contains the Python 3 version. 3/3
practical, real world data analysis in Python. pandas is well suited for many different kinds of data: - Tabular data with heterogeneously-typed columns, as in an SQL table or Excel spreadsheet - Ordered and unordered (not necessarily fixed-frequency) time series data. 2/3⤵
Random Debian Astro package of the week is python3-pandas. pandas is a Python package providing fast, flexible, and expressive data structures designed to make working with "relational" or "labeled" data both easy and intuitive. It aims to be the fundamental high-level building block for doing 1/3⤵
The American Astronomical Society is delighted to announce that the Astropy Project, and all contributors to it, will receive the 2025 Berkeley Prize for Meritorious Work in Astronomy. Astropy will deliver the honorary closing Plenary of #AAS245aas.org/press/astrop...
Random Debian Astro package of the week is python3-astrodendro. Python 3 module is to provide an easy way to compute dendrograms of observed or simulated Astronomical data in Python 3.
This week, I had my 10th anniversary as a #Debian Developer! All that started from wanting to have wcslib as a package. In 2014, I also founded @DebianAstro which now has more than 300 packages ready to use for all sorts of astronomers and astrophysicists.
Random Debian Astro package of the week is rawtran. Rawtran is an utility to convert of raw photos in .CR2, .CRW, MRW, NEF, RAF, etc. formats to the general astronomical FITS image format. The identification of raw photo type and decoding itself is done via DCRAW utility by D.Coffin.
