I personally come down on it being more like Rondo of Blood than SotN. I guess it doesn't matter that much, genre being as fluid as it is, but to me it lacks character progression that interacts with the world. I'd more readily accept Sekiro as one.
I haven't seen any of what fchamp does these days, but that sounds like a massive upgrade.
It's just really well written. I was really refreshing to play to me, despite the subject matter.
