I talk about this with many new writers. No one will be as critical of your work, so better to prep yourself! If you say it's bad, no one goes in with high expectations! Except no one wants to read a story even the author doesn't like, and you're actually sabotaging your own brain and confidence.

LRS: not constantly talking badly about myself was the first and hardest step of learning to Author. I was raised to self-deprecate because they were gonna tease me anyway, may as well be in on the joke! Surprise! Saying “buy my trash book please, omg am dying” does NOT make anyone want to read it.
