At Yale, for instance, masks are "encouraged" but none of the HCW are wearing them. None. I will probably see a couple of others in a mask, usually a procedure mask. They aren't even modelling.

I really think it's a holdover from the idea that illness is a sign of gods disfavor. If they mask they have to admit that they aren't exceptional and that anyone can become disabled. It's pure uncut ableism.
