I *strongly* advise not having this app on your phone or uploading media to it that you haven’t stripped of metadata beforehand - someone with 10 years experience investigating commercial surveillance
X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, plans to collect “user biometric data, job and school history”
X, the social network that used to be known as Twitter, updated its privacy policy to include a new kind of user data it plans to collect: biometric.
Some people I like reading are still on twitter so I bookmark them but use nitter.net instead. A slow way to read tweets, but no app, no twitter website, etc.
Should we get rid of what we've already uploaded?
Does this apply to previously uploaded content?
Can you clarify which app. This as in Bluesky or This as in the app formerly known as Twitter? Thnx for the heads up~
please advise if i’m wrong here but this biometric data collection would be a requirement for verification ie. paid accounts who agreed to tos terms gizmodo.com/elon-twitter...
The new Twitter, AKA ‘X’, privacy policy states that the site may collect users' biometric information—likely a face scan to prove they’re really human.
If they ever force me to update the app from the version that still has the bird logo I’m going to simply delete it
I'm no longer on Twitter yet I also can't delete the app as it's preinstalled on my phone by default, is there any workaround?
what about only using it in the browser?
Twitter so lame now. Basically what happens now is anything you 'like', then that account's posts instantly fill your time line. Oh, that, and the endless gambling web site ads, how to order drugs from India ads, and strippers in Thailand ads
It’s on my iPad.
