Rise, unlike World, has a line of "easy mode" hunts, the aforementioned "village quests", that really let you practice and learn stuff before heading into the "normal" monster hunter experience of teaming up for "guild hunts", preparing your hunting gear, and taking down big monsters!
Personally, I found Monster Hunter: Rise to be the easiest to jump into and learn. It's really, really good + doesnt info-bomb you as hard as Monster Hunter World. It has a huge collection of monsters, excellent weapons, simple-to-access multiplayer. The "village quest" storyline helps teach you :)
They have a STEEP initial learning curve, but they are legitimately amazing. I'm very picky with what games I LOVE, but I have completely fallen in love with Monster Hunter.
Heavy Bowgun = absolute BLAST to play in both games, so I'm eating good for sure RISE Biggest Flaw = NO POOGIE?!?! World Biggest Flaw = Mind-meltingly stupid multiplayer code (still worth it)
💪I like Monster Hunter Rise AND Monster Hunter World and I'm double-track drifting both simultaneously with my girlfriends 💪
