One of the things on my mind as Im about to embark on an ambitious trip is how I can talk about nature more effectively. I feel like appreciation of our environment is at an all time low, that its been replaced by climate apocalypticism that steps past recognizing what still lives and must be saved
I know that it can be a hell scape but there are a few tiktok accounts that do really well at explaining the history of nature and cultivation and good stewardship, etc. one that comes to mind that looks more at positive news is Alaina Wood.
I think Murray Bookchin, and Social Ecology can provide some good ways to reframe the convo around the environment. There's an essay of his on The Anarchist Library 'What is Social Ecology?' that I think might be helpful. @anark.bsky.socialhttps://youtu.be/tEYyoBdFyBA

It's different being in nature vs. looking at nature. I hope that makes sense.
One of the things that most people nowadays don't get to experience is "the sublime", that one moment when it hits you that you are but a small player in the universe, to experience the true beauty of nature and not only its abstract beauty
Have a nice trip. My concerns are the need for violent action to save what we can may outweigh our preferable liberal civility protests that are non-violent direct-actions that environmentalist groups have engaged in currently. It’s a shame ELF is gone
Hope you enjoy your trip. ✌️
This is something that would be worth talking about in the future. Have a safe trip! Take pictures.
