Iām always saying this, though it sounds churlish to write. Unlike 2016 and 2020, when he liked to spar w the MSM, Trump has lived in a veal pen. He makes news anyway but the interviewers usually stay away from tough Qs bc they want to help him win.
like if the situation were reversed and the dems were doing the "Blitz Primary" or whatever, Douthat would be writing about how they could've presented a front of stability and unity with Kamala but they foolishly passed over her so they could instead out-liberal each other.
Pete Buttigieg's response to JD Vance and "childless cat ladies" is perfect. He notes his own struggles to adopt, adding: "He couldn't have known that, but maybe that's why you shouldn't be talking about other people's children." On the pod, we discuss: newrepublic.com/article/1842...
After Buttigieg scores a direct hit on Vance for smearing Dems in vile terms, a writer who closely tracks Vance digs into what this saga reveals about his deeply weird natalist worldview.
If you need more reasons to like Kamala Harris - she hates crypto.
Vivian Jenna Wilson, Elon Musk's trans daughter, is absolutely torching him on Threads (yes, this is her, she confirmed with video). You absolutely love to see it, except for the fact that it's not happening on Bluesky.
āEmergency Broadcast?!?ā What is that nonsense?!?
In fairness to the Post, this isn't a news story, it's a Marc Thiessen column... he's a take-slinger, Bret Stephens on the Potomac www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...
If you want to ensure that reporters jump on something, lie about it. Trump saying that he had no idea who was involved with this inspired stories about how, obviously, he did - many were former staff admin. All was reported last year! He just gave it a fresh hook, it was crazy.
