I've heard that Nvidia's cards have to install drivers since they can have some issues, maybe that helps? But yes, it's quite faster, and much more customizable, I love that.

I tried Ubuntu Gamepack (I didn't like it) and Pop!_OS. I did like this one and it was where I was able to try out the games. My Nvidia GPU drivers installed fine. Less demanding games worked fine

Also, Lutris helps a lot with gaming (and let's you have all your games in one place).

on Mint they knew this would be an issue for beginners so they have their stupid easy driver util (I would die without it).
