We'd been fascinated by these peculiar circular stamps that often appear on the final leaf of Restoration playbooks, and (after a few years!) eventually worked out that James Magnes and Richard Bentley, who published the plays, were also distributing them by post.

Hamlet actually makes it to England by ship, but it's the England of King Lear's time, and Hamlet is freaked out by Edgar as Poor Tom, concludes the English really are as mad as he himself is said to be.

Mercutio brings his brother Valentine to the Capulet ball as per the servant's invitation list; Valentine instantly realises he and Proteus have been hanging out in a dull corner of Verona, and rushes back to get Silvia and Julia.
