Hey, all. Julie Rehmeyer has made it easy to donate Blue Sky invite codes to folks in the disability community for whom Twitter was a crucial support. If you have extras you can drop them here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...
Please fill out this form if you're the chronic illness community and you'd like to either (1) donate invite codes or (2) request an invite.
(The reason I think of this whenever I read resumes is it took me a long time to realize there were skills I could put on my resume that I hadn't thought made me unique in any way.)
In honor of me reading resumes (again): What's something you thought most people have/do easily, but have found is actually an uncommon skill you have? My biggest one is finding information. (TBH, it's just Google, but knowing you need to look & doing it effectively is a skill.)
I just finished the first draft on Sunday, and I'm super excited about how it turned out. (Very different from my original vision, but in a better sort of way, I think.) These prompts are the very first I've shared about it. They were a lot of fun!!! 💖
Last 1 for #MixTAPESTuesday Setting: Well... It's partly set in a 90s-esque low fantasy version of our world & also set in an entirely fictional version of the 1920s. Also a scene on a pirate ship in the 18th century. Also a scene in a medieval forest. Also there's an apocalypse in the background.
Next one for #MixTAPESTuesday (it is still Tuesday in my time zone!) E: 3rd person limited, always. For this WIP, it's a single character's POV. A lot of what happens isn't necessarily real, and so I wanted to limit to just her experience of that.
And the flip side for #MixTAPESTuesday Protagonist: Nah, she's not a hero at all. She would definitely agree with that assessment 😂 But she would also point out heroes have to do hero things. They're predictable. There are expectations to meet. It's the non-heroes who are the most fun.
More #MixTAPESTuesday Antagonist: This is actually an ongoing conversation the characters have throughout the book. So to answer, a quote from (not?) the villain: "I'm only the villain because you didn't meet me first."
Going to do #MixTAPESTuesday for the new WIP!! Themes: The biggest ones are to do with isolation vs belonging and reality/truth (and whether something has to be real to be true).
