I skip querying anyone who asks. I don't have a marketing plan. It's part of why I'm trying a trad pub route, because I don't know how to market all on my own. It's a conversation I'd want to have at the time of offer or later, not during the querying part of the process.

Agree with this entirely. I think it’s a disservice to authors and to the industry as a whole to make authors do the work of marketers.
