One thing I hate: that painful slog of inarticulacy when you're writing a first draft and don't really know what you think. One thing I love: the electric excitement of realizing what you think and typing that out as fast as you can hear yourself talk in your head. ☹️😃😂
flow state is dreamy
I actually love the spewing my thoughts step, and bemoan the refinement step.
Speed of thought normally = 10 Speed of typing = 8 Speed of handwriting = 2 Speed of thought when I have a great idea = 100 Speed of thought when I have a great idea but am singularly unable to stop and record it (e.g. driving, etc.) = 200 There is a bottleneck here that I run into a lot.
This is me!
Good feeling!!!!
Pivoting from one to the other is so painful 😂😭
How fast are you able to type?! My fingers could never keep up with my thoughts!
Yes it happens once on a blue moon. The rest of the days, it's humiliation to the highest degree.
All these author messages on here really show me how all creatives go through very similar situations - particularly the mental ones within the creative process. Signed a game dev.
While I relate to that, I admit that I am taken aback that "inarticulacy" is a word that exists. The more you know !
