What's the latest on solving Bongard problems? Did anyone ever crack that?

This paper uses Bayesian inference over a language of visual concepts to solve Bongard problems. It is still a long way from human-level performance, but nicely discusses the challenges. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....

This is why we need mechanistic modelling, and why I think eco psych should embrace that - to stop fitting models with ‘plausible’ elements only one theory finds plausible and replace that with actual real parts you’ve definitely established are there

If it looks like online control, it is probably model-based control. New preprint on #PsyArXiv#CogSci2024osf.io/preprints/ps...

Agent-environment loop. a) The agent receives an observation, which may be a noisy or partial version of the environment state. Based on this observation and potentially an internal state, they perform an action, which affects the state at the next time step. b) In online control, the action is directly a function of the observation. c) In model-based control, the agent acts based on an internal state in the form of a belief.
