Despairing at people understanding Barnier solely through the lens of Brexit when his appointment is a mark of a shift to the right (even the extreme right) in France given his immigration views and a further erosion of democracy given that he represents a party that got only 6% in the elections.

Had a great evening at @mauricejcasey.bsky.social’s book launch. We always say we are excited to read our friends’ books but in this case it’s 💯 true😂 I know how much critical and ethical reflection and how much hard work has gone into this. Sure to be both gripping and intellectually stimulating.
It is now clear that Netanyahu said no to a cease fire, and now the question is whether the US is willing to apply any real pressure or consequences. I'm not holding my breath.
