Alas, my anecdatum is the opposite. Books sales dropped off a cliff exactly when I mostly abandoned "X" because of its Nazi-bar squick. In fairness, that may be 'cause most of my little slice of indie-fantasy-book community is still largely over there. Still, I have high hopes for Bluesky!
I'm sure she would 100% agree with you! 😀
Thank you so much!
If self-published authors aren't too small-fry for your list, and Reading is close enough to the city to be "Boston Area," I'd love to be on it!
If you're looking for an ensemble cast of lovable heroes in way over their heads, peeling back onion-layers of evil plots in a (finished) epic fantasy series full of adventure, humor and magic, I have you covered! The Heroes of Spira starts with The Ventifact Colossus. www.amazon.com/dp/B077LBHV92
I particularly liked the opening to Red Sister, by Mark Lawrence: "It is important, when killing a nun, to ensure that you bring an army of sufficient size. For Sister Thorn of the Sweet Mercy Convent Lano Tacsis brought two hundred men."
My previous experience with Cooney has been her short stories (Bone Swans) and a novella (Desdemona and the Deep), so getting an entire full length novel's worth of her prose is absolutely decadent.
On audio: Adrian Tchaikovsky’s The Air War, book 8 of his incredible Shadows of the Apt epic fantasy series. On paper: Saint Death’s Daughter by C.S.E. Cooney, whose prose and characters are beyond delightful. Needless to say, I’m loving both books!
