Never, Teams is indestructible. You can't even leave a Teams channel once you're in
Is it normal to have a bad year for your research when you're a group leader? This year has been rubbish, with grant rejections, grants coming to an end, research staff leaving, issues with students... feel like I'm doing a rubbish job and not cut out for this
To be difficult I am a mixture. I do love a screenshot, but I always keep the journal name in the screenshot and the title is easier to search for than "common last name, abbreviated jorunal title and year". Although when listening to a talk I can never remember references in either format
🚨 The Whelan lab is hiring! 🚨 We're looking for a Research Assistant to join our lab at U of Manchester. We're seeking someone with experience in microbiology & microbiome to support our growing group. Note this isn't a postdoc role (though keep 👀 for those announcements soon!) #Microsky 🧪 🧬 💻
I'm not surprised she was in a rage, thats worrying they actually think that, hopefully the course will set that person straight...
Great to see the accepted version of this paper out in J Appl Microbiol. Jordan did a fantastic job in the lab with @mcvickermicro.bsky.socialacademic.oup.com/jambio/advan...
Oh yeah I do that to, especially when I'm going to sleep
We have a big open planned office (~20 desks) which is the focus for the group. I've had to start working elsewhere on campus to make sure I get work done. Being neurodivergent in a large office, with lots of distraction means I get barely any work done there. There can't be a catch all approach
Also, if you ever want a chat about UTI collaborations (or anything on AMR) I am always open to it!
