I hadn't heard of her, either. There seems to be a reproduction of her poems in the book Six Poets of Racial Uplift published in 1996 by G. K. Hall. And there are copies at the Indiana Historical Society (presumably in Indianapolis) and the Schomburg. I'm going to look around for a copy.

A few people have interpreted me saying that "when giving advice to students, I always mention self care" as putting the blame on students, and that is super not the case! Part of what I say is that the pressures and stress are *not* their fault, and that it's not a failing to prioritize health.
I think I only ate there a couple of times--probably after a college party debauch--and it was a fun time. Quirkily retro, as you said. I'm sorry to see such places disappear.
