Just remembering in like 2015 a bunch of young furries online decided to declare it cringe to make animal noises and use words like "Yiff" and "Snuggle" as it made us "seem weird" how basically the response of almost every fur I knew was to "DRAMATICALLY INCREASE THE THING!"
And I think we need a good adults only con again. Especially in this charged environment. Haven't a couple gone this way?
The way to do it. Why does it seem to be the youngest that have issues with this? I think perhaps the under 18 crowd need to sit back and either enjoy furry as it is or maybe find a different fandom rather than us having to deal with their childish insecurities.
Granted this was the first big wave of "Furry as an aesthetic" where they also discouraged folks from using fursona and change it to OC's because couldn't be weird and want to actually be your fursona.
Honestly I rarely hear much furry lingo anymore. Idk maybe it's just the online spaces I'm hanging out in nowadays, but I swear I rarely hear anyone unironically use terms like "yiff" "scritch" "glomp" or "murr" Personally I think it might have something to do with that wave of "cringe culture" (c)
I still use the word yiff, and make animal noises, I been in the fandom longer than some of these kids have been alive and I’ll be damned if they’re gunna tell me what to do :p
Honestly, seeming weird has fixed me in so many ways
Yiffy murrsuit scritches at the cuddle puddle is the best. And I'm tired of pretending it's not.
I had no idea that "snuggle" was a furry exclusive word, considering I heard it countless times before finding out about the community
I regularly say "Bark" and "Arf" IRL. It's amazing how many emotions they can convey by altering your tone...
