2006: Carnival by @matociquala.bsky.social. Estranged gay couple forcibly reunited by the homophobic ecofascist govt they work for to go do sus diplomacy/spying on matriarchal planet. Read this on release & had never read anything like it. Interesting stuff w/ intrigue, gender politics, & trust.
This was my first eBear, found because it was near Emma Bull on the shelves (incidentally: Bone Dance)
2007: Ink by @halduncan.bsky.social (book 2 of 2). An absolutely extraordinary book. When I first read it I didn't know SFF was allowed to be likeable this. Staggeringly ambitious, profane, and hugely gay, a Burroughs-esque cut up multiverse revolving around different echoes of the same characters.
