Yeah, I’m sure NHTSA, one of the most regulatory captured agencies in the country, which has consistently failed to hold even Tesla to account, will get right on that. Fuck man, we have to depend on IIHS to crash test cars and make them safer because NHTSA sucks ass.

I'm aware of the NHTSA's problems and failures - but I'm not particularly interested in political thinking that starts with "that'll never happen," nor am I interested in writing off a whole swath of regulatory authority because the agency isn't functioning today. These aren't unsolved problems.
