Hi there! My lab studies 1) how bacteria evolve on response to Protozoa and 2) how we can use Phages to protect honeybees against American Foulbrood (AFB). I’m not a beekeeper but I was really excited to suit up this weekend and see an infected hive up close! In NZ AFB infected hives must be burnt!
Poor bees. And beekeeper. It's such a hard part of beekeeping. You get really attached to them 😔. This is the reason why it's an absolute no-no to feed bees honey.
