Per your article, I do think that COVID was a catalyst for energising conspiracy theorists / contrarians. I know someone who became a 'name' in anti-vax who has now started retweeting anti-climate change messages. Contrarianism has become quite a movement.
We have passed the tipping point with regard to reality being lost in an ocean of alternative facts. It’s mainstream now…it’s not some outlier of “unwell” folks that see the world through this chaos of “information”, and are making decisions through this babble. My reply on the other site:
