Many Cuban students went to USSR & fell in love (vice versa) . Documentary about it called "todos iban a ser reinas". So even USSR had student mobility visas with other countries. Yet Starmer can't even promise to re-enter Erasmus. Pathetic
The Soviet nostalgia is staggering with a view of life behind the Iron Curtain thar appears to be coloured by Russian propaganda lies. As an individual you had freedom _from_ unemployment and homelessness, but no freedom to choose your education, occupation or workplace, let alone where to live.

I totally agree with you on the last point. I don’t get Starmer’s European squeamishness. I think he’s capable of being a good PM but he dodges some obvious wins.
