Many Cuban students went to USSR & fell in love (vice versa) . Documentary about it called "todos iban a ser reinas". So even USSR had student mobility visas with other countries. Yet Starmer can't even promise to re-enter Erasmus. Pathetic

Of coz it was shite that's not my point. My point was that there was some level of freedom of movement within the USSR area, there were open borders between Belarus & Russia (still is I believe) & many Russians moved to Georgia vice versa etc. U also had some youth mobility agreements with Cuba etc

This is good podcast but I don't think Soviet is the right word to use. As u had freedom of movement inside the Soviet Union which was huge. U could move to Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan etc & they also had mobility links with Cuba etc..Brexit UK is arguably even worse as u just have Ireland
