I personally think it could be a mixture of that and the design of the character being made to cater to a specific taste that may not vibe with others. And that's completely OK! I would recommend not to try to appease others and make characters YOU like HOW you like them to be.
I hate that "LGBT people can't be villains" thing. While well-meaning, people don't understand that vilifying being queer itself is wrong, but not all queer people are good people, and that's just how human nature is. Appealing to such people would take away from the deepness of reason.
Just be careful, apply the compound to a soft cloth and softly rub the marker, do not apply it directly to the surface, as the compound can get between the CD layers and damage the metal filament inside, or damage the paint permanently.

Sadly in my current state, I am unable to play much, but I got so much off my WiiU thanks to the touchpad lately. It has some fun games that can be played with a single hand. Like a lot of DS Virtual Console stuff.
Most of these consoles were literal landfill at one point. I also do modding and cosmetic restoration, and you're now viewing a sample of my work. Most also required electronic maintenance or adding daughterboards just for them to boot. Most have been a learning experiences I love to bits.
I know it is a good game. I physically cannot play it though...
