I love the way that every time you see eels they have a different sound. First saw them when they did Daisies of the Galaxy, horn/strings and Lisa Germano. Then when they did Souljacker and they were a rock band with a trashcan for a drum. Then as a string octet.

First saw eels in 98 supporting Pulp on tour. They wore karate gis and, when the set was cut short by a technical problem. E roundhouse kicked the microphone stand on his way off stage. Second gig was at Royal Albert Hall backed by a string quartet. So yeah.
