I think it's a positive sign that such a large consumer-focused outlet like Men's Health is warning its readers about COVID reinfections, Long COVID, and is recommending masking in 2024. More of this, please!

How Repeat Covid Infections Can Harm Your Health
They might push up your risk for diabetes and other chronic problems.
Why You Still Need to Take Covid Precautions
You’ve likely stopped masking and might not think about Covid as much as you used to, but it remains a major cause of death and disease, Dr. Friedberg says.
Still, Covid seems to have joined the ranks of other respiratory and infectious diseases, like the flu, that are here to stay, Dr. Loafman says. However, Covid isn’t necessarily following a seasonal cycle, like the flu—instead, it keeps hanging around with new variants emerging and periodic spikes happening.
So, it’s crucial to keep following all the guidelines we’ve learned over the past four years to protect yourself and others. Stay up to date on vaccines, Dr. Loafman says, and if you do get sick, wear a mask and stay away from others.
“Each infection is like taking a chance at the lottery,” Dr. Friedberg says. “The odds are a bit better than they were three years ago, but there is still a chance you could end up with serious illness..."

Here are my lists, soon to become science and nature feeds. Want to be added? Which ones? Leave a comment here. I know there's already an "Ecology and Conservation" feed. I don't intend to compete. I'll be encouraging people to join and contribute to both feeds. Please share! Gracias! 😸

The day my son cooked rice in his new rice cooker then served it to me after explaining how little water it needs and I struggled to finish the objectively raw rice. I wondered if his neural pathways remembered the rice I cooked for him. It might have been a “fuck you” Not sure yet.

I tried to do some soundscapes and sleepscapes for better sleep for about a week. I had the freaking weirdest dreams as a result and just felt uneasy for the day. Reading a book is and has been my best option atm.

When you start to notice how your mind and body tend to pursue people for kindness and love, you become more aware of how you cultivate safety for yourself. And, when it starts to feel exhausting to pursue, you can learn to stop with some practice because you’re enough exactly as you are.

Sometimes we stay close to the tigers in our lives because the thought of being isolated and uncared for feels unbearable…until one day, it just doesn’t.
